When considering the stringent testing guidelines
and exacting requirements of military and Iaw enforcement testing
around the world, MEC-GAR magazines have met or exceeded
the compliance guidelines. Representing the most superb functional
reliability, MEC-GAR magazines are the most trusted
magazines for military weapons, The key to the superior performance of MEC-GAR magazines is the reliability of the working process which is the result of proven experience in the designing and manufacturing of magazines. MEC-GAR's proud dedication is to make products that get the job done. We work very closely with the gun manufacturer to optimize the design, bearing in mind that the consistent and reliable operation of the auto-pistols depends Iargely on how weIl the magazine feeds and ramps the bullets. MEC-GAR consistently makes any necessary improvements which are progressively incorporated on all conventional or perfected magazine designs. lts dedication to all technical details covering design, fit and function ensure a formidable competitive edge. The steel drop-free magazine box is tapered to easily fit the contour of the beveled magazine well. The feeding ribs are precisely formed and shaped to guide each round of ammunition from the bottom of the magazine tube to the upper tapered part of the magazine without jamming or slow down. The choice of the right materials is of paramount importance. Tensile strength, as well as elongation rate and chemical composition of all raw materials are carefully checked before even being accepted for production. Made from certified Carbon Steel AISI 1010 or from superior 17-7 PH aircraft-grade stainless steel, MEC-GAR magazines are precision formed te meet the most severe specitications and tolerances. MEC-GAR magazines feature perfectly interchangeable components which are the result of the finest precision stamping, bending and drawing operations. Precision TIG welding under supervised direction insures for a “no snag" and durable seamless finish on very thin thicknesses (from .023" to .047") (0,60 / 1,2mm). Built to last, MEC-GAR magazines are heat-treated to provide additional strength. Our in-house heat treatment manufacturing monitores the entire process from the hardening step to the stress relieve. All variables are kept under control to get parts complying to the tightest specifications. Surface hardness goes from 550 to 750 Vickers (HV1 Kg) while carburizing depth measured at 550 Vickers staying between .002” (0,05mm) and .005” (0,12mm) (HVO.2Kgs). Hi-tech coatings such as black oxide, high or medium Phosphorus Electroless Nickel, special manganese-phosphating provide MEC-GAR magazines with an excellent corrosion resistance. Steel, glass or matte finished surfaces are also available. MEC-GAR magazines incorporate high strength custom blended fiber-fill nylon bases or heat-treated steel bases designed to withstand the most severe “drop and slap tests”. The follower is made of either injected plastic or micro-die-cast metal alloy or can be simply stamped from hard steel and is designed to ensure the absolute reliability of loading ammunition and their positive feeding. MEC-GAR followers travel smoothly in the magazine tube and are designed to correctly activate the slide-stop lever when available. The magazine springs are fabricated from high tensile strength spring wire and under Mec-Gar’s stringent design requirements are provided with reinforced coils with stiffening folds to increase their thrust force. Over more than thirty-five years “of exclusive” commitment to "MAKE MAGAZINES” MEC-GAR has engineered and developed more than two hundred different models of magazines. In response fo industry demand, we offer standard and high capacity magazines in the following calibers: .25, .22LR, .32, .380, 9mm, lOmm, .38 Super, .45 ACP, .40 S&W, .357SIG, .28OREM, .25-O6REM, .30-06, .270WIN, .35WHELEN, 7mm-O8REM, .257ROBERTS, .308WlN, 6mmREM, .243WIN, .26OREM, .223, .300, .338, 7,62 NATO, 5.56. |
